Gecko Theme 2.2.3.0 Release

First release for Gecko Theme in April comes with new features, improvements and fixes so that your site can not only work great but also look fantastic.

What’s New?

A brand new 404 page to handle that missing content and inform users that, sorry, but you need to look somewhere else. Scroll to top button was also added in this release. You can enable it quickly by going to the backend of your site > Gecko > Customize > General section. Here you’ll find the option to enable it on your site.

This is not really an option, but more of a new experience for users… We added smooth scrolling for anchors so it’s less jumpy and more pleasant to experience. With this it also shows users the place they scroll to with context instead of a quick teleport that sometimes might end up with a confused user.

What’s Made Better?

We made sure that the mobile experience is better with adjusting the spaces between sidebars and content wrapper. We also added sidebars to the Search page and added #main id to the content wrapper – thanks to that it’s easier to target content in ajax search plugins. We also improved the list formatting as we did get some reports from you guys about them.

When it comes to fixes we definitely got the incredible invisible checkbox fixed for PeepSo Polls plugin. Turns out being invisible in this context is not really a super-power. We also improved padding and overall integration with Elementor Page builder. You can see full changelog here.

What’s Coming Next?

Oh, oh, oh… It was announced on our community but it’s also worth mentioning here. We recently and when I say recently, i mean he started working yesterday, hired another frontend developer to help out with Gecko theme development. We have high hopes and are excited to have him onboard. With his help we’ll definitely be able to add more and more amazing features to Gecko.

If you have suggestions for features, feel free to let us know in comments below. We’d love to hear your suggestions and feature requests. Keep them coming so we can provide you with an even better product with each release.

@peepso_user_16278(jin) I don't think you realize how much server resources you need to run video chat on your site. Perhaps some day we will, but it'd rather be an integration with some 3rd party service like Amazon etc.
