Gecko Theme 2.2.2.0 Release

Gecko theme is becoming more and more powerful with each release. This one brings some new features, improvements and fixes as well. At the same time I’d like to give you a heads up that we’ll be switching PeepSo.com to Gecko within the next 24h as well.

What’s New?

Header Blend Mode

Makes header transparent and removes top padding on <body> to help header blend with page background. Works perfect with page builders. It will still use solid background color on scroll. It’s a page-specific option so you can find in when editing a page. It’s especially useful with various page builders and pages where you want the header to blend with the background and ‘appear’ only when scrolling down.

Footer Social Widget Position

There already are a few widget positions and configuration options for widgets in the footer of your site. However, we’re also adding a widget position that’s in line with the copyrights of your site so you can place social networking options / icons / links. It’s just a suggestion, though. As it’s a widget position like any other, it’ll work perfectly fine with any other widgets that you might place there.

Fonts: System font, Roboto, Roboto Condensed

Support for a few more fonts was added as well. System, Roboto and Roboto Condensed were added to Gecko in this release. We find these fonts are definitely crystal clear and can add to user experience. Not to mention the fact, these fonts are amongst fastest loading ones there are, so page loading speeds won’t be affected by using custom fonts.

Improvements & Fixes

In this release Gecko theme brings you improvements and fixes to the existing features too. Let’s start with an option to show up to 6 footer widgets in a row. Adding to the single post view and showing post category. We’ve also improved margins on Gutenberg gallery block. When it comes to fixes, we did improve images handling within single post view, as it sometimes broke the layout. Category description is also visible now on frontend. Last but not least we’ve fixed cover repositioning within PeepSo User Profiles with ‘Wide Cover’ option enabled. You can see the full changelog here – please note that it will be posted within up to 24h from the time of this post.

Don’t have Gecko Theme? You can get it now!
