New Release: PeepSo & Gecko – Dokan Integration!

Introducing the Dokan integration and full compatibility with WordPress 5.7, PHP 8 & JQuery 3.

Dokan Multivendor

The PeepSo WooCommerce integration gains support for Dokan Multivendor in PeepSo It’s the second integration (after WooCommerce Product Vendors) which lets you run a marketplace where your own users sell products.

The first iteration of the integration simply introduces a new profile tab for users who are Dokan Vendors, enabling a marketplace listing right in the profiles. Along with the pre-existing WooCommerce integration features like: posting to stream upon purchase, posting to stream after leaving a review, integrating WooCommerce orders / addresses tabs into PeepSo profiles, it is a good start for a well rounded multivendor marketplace experience.

This integration works both with the free and paid versions of Dokan. The Gecko theme has also been improved in this release, to better support Dokan interface in general.

Custom comment limit for pinned posts

Having pinned posts with many comments attached to the top of the stream can become a nuisance, as the comments might take a lot of valuable “above the fold” space. Based on a suggestion from a few users, we introduced a custom comment limit for the pinned posts. This way you can limit the amount of comments displayed under the pinned posts, to save space at the top of the stream.

WordPress 5.7, PHP 8 and JQuery 3

At the time of writing this article, WordPress 5.7 is expected in the next 24 hours. As usual, our team has tested PeepSo and Gecko thoroughly against the Beta and Release Candidate versions to ensure full compatibility long before the WordPress release.

It’s especially important to note, WordPress 5.7 permanently upgraded the JQuery version to 3.x which might break many plugins and themes, if their developers did not pay close attention to the WordPress development schedule.

PeepSo and Gecko are also fully PHP 8 compatible, but because of how WordPress handled the topic we will only be able to render support and bug fixes for PHP 8 if you are on WordPress 5.7 or newer.

If you wish to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress and/or PHP we strongly encourage you to use a staging copy of your website first, to find out if any third parties have issues with WP 5.7 / JQuery 3 / PHP8. Like previously said, PeepSo and WordPress are ready, but the same can’t always be said about other developers and it might be better to test everything before going live.

I am a professional nerd with **over a decade of experience** in the field of Open Source web development. Before [PeepSo]( I was a contractor and have helped build successful businesses around the world, including USA, UK, Germany, Indonesia and Malaysia. A couple of years leading up to founding PeepSo, I was involved with JomSocial - a social networking extension for Joomla. Stepping up from the role of contractor to business owner, I became [PeepSo]( founder and Chief Technology Officer. I strive to build beautiful, fast and functional software that **empowers the users to build their own digital tribes with full autonomy and freedom** often not available on the mainstream social networking media. As a **location independent** *digital nomad* I travel almost constantly, although over the past five years I have spent most of my time in Indonesia and Malaysia. I speak fluent English and Polish, decent German and Spanish and even some Indonesian.

@peepso_user_10(Matt Jaworski) One thing I forgot to add to the message I sent via support ticket about Dokan suggestions - placing access to the Dokan Vendor Dashboard within profile would be a big thing for vendors... at the mo, they have to go to the dokan profile/account to access store dash, takes away from peepso area and effectively would be 2 different account areas... havnig a tab on profile showing for vendors dashboard would streamline things a lot and place peepso much more central to the integration rather than a 'bolt on' from Dokan users side of things

@peepso_user_14137(Tim Lord) Yes, a tighter integration is definity something we want. I just have more backend than frontend devs, so it's easier/faster to make something work than make it look good 😉 Especially CSS gets tricky when rendering bits from a third party inside our interface is considered. But we will definitely get there. Thank you!

what kind of hosting servers (Shared/VPS/Dedicated) you guys are using with and without woocommerce (online store/multivendor marketplace) activated because my site is experiencing too much time to load on desktop tops as well as mobile phones. Interesting thing is, I have not even activated Woocommerce, Ultimate member, Gify and few other plugins. There are hardly 500 registered users on my site and out of that around 450 members are not active for quite a long time. The rest of people are sometimes active with a total postings of around 15-20 in a month. So, that's the load on the site currently. The GTmetrix test of my site is showing 16.3 seconds for loading the homepage fully. Please refer the link
and advice your suggestions, thanks in advance.
